Explicit Solution to Large Deformation of Cantilever Beam by Improved Homotopy Analysis Method II: Vertical and Horizontal Displacements

Explicit solutions to vertical and horizontal displacements are derived for large deformation of a cantilever beam under point load at the free end by an improved homotopy analysis method (IHAM). Quadratic cubic nonlinear differential equations adopted construct more proficient respectively combined with their currently available displacement equations. Higher-order iterative established solve combining simultaneous constructed auxiliary linear The convergence range is extended homotopy-Páde approximation. explicit in favorable agreements respective exact solutions. ranges relative error 1% increases 60% 7%, respectively. These formulas helpful practical engineering design very slender structures, such as high-rise buildings long bridges.
